First Snow of Winter

The Long Trek South Begins

Ah, such fun! Heading east toward Osoyoos to cross the border and go south to warmer climes for a few weeks.

I awake to 6" of beautiful, fresh, soft, fluffy, white snow, having spent the night in Stemwinder Provincial Park on Hwy #3 (on my lonesome), with no furnace and 0 degrees outside, (not far off that inside too). Then the camper won't start and neither will the portable backup generator! 3 hours, a mile walk in the snow, a friendly house owner and a welcome tow truck with booster cables later and I drive off to Penticton in search of Canadian Tire to once again get a replacement battery. (This one lasted 11 months. just like the last one!)
Hmm, not a quibble, didn't even test it! I wonder how many of these Eliminators get returned??
They were really helpful and not only carried the old battery from the camper but the new one to it as well, my back being unwilling to support the weight.

Yippee, I'm on the way again, once I've been to the bank. Oh, its 4:10 and they shut at 4 !
OK, pizza for dinner, boondocking overnight.........Oh yes, the furnace works so much better with a full tank of propane!! :-) whoops.....

Bye for now,

PS The tow truck driver had to tow me out first because I was parked facing the river, he only had booster cables and couldn't pull alongside. Then, just to add to the fun, I shut the door with the engine running and locked myself out!!!! Luckily he hadn't left and was rather adept at braking into vehicles! Ho hum.....
